Lee graduated from Columbia University’s Barnard College in 2001 with a degree in English and a minor in Economics. She went on to join the Merchandising team at Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, where she quickly climbed the ranks to become their youngest ever Marketing Manager. Five years later, she decided to quit the corporate world and move out to the countryside of Hokkaido, Japan to teach English and spread grassroots internationalization.
Internationalization is what Lee’s family is all about. She was born in Korea, her husband was born in Lebanon, her first daughter was born in America, and her second daughter was born in Japan. Between her and her husband, they speak 6 languages.
Having decided to return to the world of marketing, Lee entered Ogilvy’s recruitment contest, “Search for the World’s Greatest Salesperson.” She was selected as one of three finalist flown to Cannes, France to participate in the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. She now works in advertising in New York City.
